Students produce two videos on environmental issues

As a result of the participatory-video training, Minibus Media, alongside the Angolan NGO staff Adra (Action for Rural and Environment Development), the students produced two videos, who selected the topics by themselves.
One group chose to report on the problematic garbage situation in the city of Luanda, Angola’s capital. They interviewed garbage collectors, representatives of environmental NGOs and citizens and produced a seven-minute educative video. During the video, the group raised awareness on the diseases which are the consequence of garbage accumulation and offered tips on how to treat the garbage. To watch the video, click here:


The other group produced a video about car washers, an informal job absolutely common in Luanda. The video brings information on the work performed by the car washers, the government’s attempt to organize this activity, and the environmental problems the dirty water used for washing the cars can cause. Using interviews with car washers, citizens and government representatives, the video calls the population’s attention for taking action against environmental problems. To watch the video, click here:
