VoterregistrationinAngola
Angola rumo ao registo eleitoral

Two months before its start, on November the 15th, 2006, many Angolans still did not know what voter registration was. This fact was witnessed by a group of 11 young journalists from the NGO Omunga, during a series of interviews conducted in the province of Benguela. The interviews were part of the practical training of the course “Journalism and Video reporting techniques”, implemented by Minibus Media in partnership with the local NGO Omunga. As a result of the course, the participants produced the documentary “Angola towards the electoral registration”. With an educational tone and simple language, the video, distributed in DVDs within the country, has been used as a tool for civic education by the civil society.
After the training, the participants also created the so called “journalist brigade” which from then on has produced audiovisual information in Angola.
Common discussions are a new experience for many students.
Most of the participants never held a camera in their hands before.
Many Angolans appreciate to be asked for their opinion nowadays.
